How to make sword

[Materials]
Making pattern paper materials
-"Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan) 3piece
-Packaging tape(parcel tape) 1piece

Main materials
・"Lion Board(Koyo Soft Board)"
->5mm thick 100cm X 10cm
->10mm thick 100cm X 10cm
-"Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan) 2piece
-Synthetic leather 100cm X 20cm
-Instant glue 3piece(It's convenient if there is also Instant gule Accelerator Spray)
-Hot melt(glue gun) 10piece(It's convenient if there is also Air duster for cooling))
-Aluminum stick 1piece
-PVC pipe(diameter 26.0mm) 1piece

Painting materials
1.Case of Gesso painting
-Gesso 100ml
-lacquer paint(Bottle lacquer paint,Lacquer Spray) or acrylic paint proper quantity

2.Case of "Bond G17" painting
-"Bond G17"(one of liqud glue in Japan) 200ml
-lacquer thinner 200ml
-Paintbrush(Disposable premise ) 1piece
-Paper cup,bowl etc.(Disposable premise ) 1piece
-Bottle lacquer paint proper quantity
-Lacquer Spray proper quantity
-Masking tape 1piece

2000Yen (about 80Yen = 1dollar)

Indispensable tools
-Writing implement(Pencil,eraser,ballpoint,Magic Marker,ruler)
-Sizzer
-Box cutter(It's good to change "Pro blade". Moreover,It will become convenient if there is also "Blade breaker")
-Cutting mat
-Hot melt(glue gun)
-Lighter
-Saw(Pipe cutter is also OK)
-Paint tools, such as a paintbrush

[How to make]
Make Pattern paper by "Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan).
Or,print Pattern paper distributed in this homepage.



Make blade.
Cut Pattern paper every parts.


Paste "Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan) cut beltlike by Hot melt(glue gun).Some "Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan) ties to one sheet.



Cut out materials based on a Pattern paper.
Cut out "Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan).


Make break to edfe of blade.


Make crease to blade.(Trace to position you want to make crease with Box cutter, and beautifull crease is made)
(Red line is crease.)


Make crease to blade.


Use Aluminum stick as core.
(Wood stick, plastic stick,Gardening stick(without wart) are also OK.
If you worry about intensity, insert ,Gardening stick(without wart) to inside of Aluminum stick.
Details are here.)br>

Paste Aluminum stick with Hot melt(glue gun).


Serve Hot melt(glue gun) as reinforce to inside.


Serve a lot Hot melt(glue gun) at a tip.


Serve at other blade.


Paste one more blade with Hot melt(glue gun).


Pasting was completed.
If you worry blade is "Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan), use Plastic sheets too. Details are here.


Paste edge of blade with "Bond G17"(one of liqud glue in Japan).
Using broken piece of "Kousakuyousi"(one of hard paper in Japan) as brush is convenience.



Paste Instant glue to edge of blade.


Pasting was completed.


Make guard.
Cut Pattern paper every parts.


Cut out materials based on a Pattern paper.
Cut out 10mm thick "Lion Board(Koyo Soft Board)".
Paste together with Instant glue.

"Lion Board(Koyo Soft Board)" is sold only in Japan.
(It's Japanese EVA board.Details are here.)
There are similar things in except Japan.
"Wonderflex", "Evazote", "EVA form", "EVAboard", "Craft form" are similer things used by world cosplayer.
Search details by Google.
-10mm
A Box cutter is used for cutting.(Big blade is easier to use.)
If Work is made to progress,It's good to use "Pro Blade","Running fire box cutter","Blade breaker",Big cutting mat.
Craft Knife is easy to cut small parts that is hard to cut by Box cutter.


If you use Instant gule Accelerator too,
pasting time will be 2 or 3 seconds.
Watch movie using it.
-Instant glue-Small spray-Big spray

Make border with Hot melt(glue gun).


Write pattern with Hot melt(glue gun).


Make hole with the sharp things, such as a Prick punch.



Lets blade pass to hole.
Paste bass of blade. Paste with Hot melt(glue gun).


Make grip.
Cut PVC pipe(diameter 26.0mm) to length with a sufficient degree.
PVC pipe can be cut by saw.But Pipe cutter is more bettr.Pipe cutter can cat quickly and beautifull.



Cover PVC pipe to Aluminum stick come out from blade.
Paste with Hot melt(glue gun).


Insert to base.

Serve Hot melt(glue gun) to inside of PVC pipe.


Serving was completed.


Cut out 5mm thick "Lion Board(Koyo Soft Board)".


Paste together with Instant glue.


Cut out 5mm thick "Lion Board(Koyo Soft Board)".


Paste together with Instant glue.

塗装の乾燥時に便利な様に柄(持ち手)にガムテープを巻いておく。
Reel Packaging tape. It's used in painting.


Paint.
When paint direct Lacquer Spray and acrylic paint,color is not beautifull.(example)
So you should paint undercoat.
There are two kinds of methods for painting undercoat.

1.Gesso painting (this is easy method)
Gesso don't contain thinner.Accordingly there is not smell worry.
It's only paintig by bruch, very easy.it can use Acrylic paint as paint.
Details are here.

Undercort->Gesso or Black Gesso
or

Paint->Lacquer Spray or Bottle lacquer paint or acrylic paint
or

2."Bond G17" painting (this is hard method)
It's fill thinner smell in room.Accordingly use outside of a room.
Details are here.

Undercort->"Bond G17"(one of liqud glue in Japan) thined with lacquer thinner
-for big things -for small things

Paint->Lacquer Spray or Bottle lacquer paint

In subsequent explanation is use "Bond G17" painting.
But Gesso painting is easy to use.

Paint "Bond G17"(one of liqud glue in Japan) thined with lacquer thinner at 3 or 4 times.


Desiccate for 4 or 5 hours.(It may become dry for 1 or 2 hours, but Desiccating for 4 or 5 hours is better.)


Paint white color as undercoat color with Lacquer Spray.


Stick Masking tape so that paint may not adhere to unrelated place.
Paint black color as undercoat color with Lacquer Spray.



Paint gold color of Bottle lacquer paint with paintbrush.


When paint Bottle lacquer paint, There should just be paintbrush,silicon cup(Use as paint plate. Easy to peel after dry.),
mixing colors stick,thinner.


Paint white color of Bottle lacquer paint with paintbrush.


Stick Masking tape so that paint may not adhere to unrelated place.


Paint silver color with Lacquer Spray.


Paste cloth cut like belt to grip with Hot melt(glue gun).


Pasting was completed.
